A Golf License! What Is That? How Does It Work?
In an innovative move, The Golf Club of Kansas does not offer typical memberships, but cutting edge Golf Licenses, a trademarked product that brings both versatility and investment value to the benefits of ownership. Applications and deposits are currently being accepted for Golf Licenses in our temporary clubhouse at the adjacent Kansas Sports Center
Enroll early and be rewarded!
Transferable Golf Licenses began selling at $7,500, and increase by $500 for every 25 sold – so enrolling early is crucial. We are now at the 6th level, or $10,000.
Details of the Golf Licenseâ„¢ Program
As a private facility, The Golf Club of Kansas will offer Golf Licenses in a program that entitles Golf License Holders to several privileges, such as:
- The option to transfer (re-sell) their Golf License at a future date
- Unlimited golf with the payment of monthly dues ($260 currently)
- Ability to request preferred starting times up to 14 days in advance
- Reduced rates for accompanied guests and dependent family members
- Preferential dining reservations
- Rewards on golf shop merchandise purchases
- Special pricing for instructional and training programs
Upon payment of the Initial Golf License Fee, Golf License Holders will be charged monthly dues, and all of the above privileges and perks take effect.
To ensure the quality of play at The Golf Club of Kansas, and to make certain the highest standards are maintained at all times, all prospective Golf License Holders will be asked to submit a letter of recommendation from a current Golf License Holder, a PGA Golf Professional, or from a Golf Club of Kansas Golf Professional Staff Member, and agree with The Golf Club of Kansas to:
- Comply with all club rules and policies
- Abide by all USGA rules of golf
- Follow etiquette and handicap system guidelines
- Use the recommended set of tees for the Golf License Holder's skill level
- Turn in scores for all completed rounds of nine holes or more for their USGA handicap
- Agree to other regulations regarding payment of dues and charges.
During the first four months of a Golf License Holder's participation in Club activities, the Golf License Holder must be certified by completing the following:
- A program on the rules of golf
- A golf etiquette test
- Demonstrate ability to play nine holes of golf in two hours or less
- Commit to maintaining the two hour or less pace for all nines played
All Golf License Holders who prefer to pay their dues on a yearly basis, will receive a 6% discount. Golf License Holders under the age of 21 or age 62 and over will receive a 15% dues discount.

Spouses and dependent children may be added to the unlimited golf privilege of a Golf License Holder upon the payment of additional dues (50% dues for a spouse, 30% dues for each dependent child), or they may play as guests for a discounted Family Guest fee each time they play with the Golf License Holder.
All Golf License Holders will have access to advance starting time reservations up to two weeks in advance. They may also access our on-line newsletter for club information, which will be updated each week.
While the Golf License is similar to a membership because it gives the holder usage rights, Golf License Holders will not have voting privileges or equity in the club. With that, there will be no liability for food and beverage minimums nor operating or capital improvement assessments for Golf License Holders. Golf Licenses are sold exclusively on an individual basis, but a business entity may purchase a Golf License and then designate a company employee as the user. There is also an option for business entities to have multiple designees.

Transferring a License (Yes, you can!)
Once 400 Golf Licenses have been sold, a Golf License Holder may transfer his/her license to another person or business entity with 75 percent of the then current Golf License Fee going back to the original Golf License Holder and 25 percent going to the club.
Golf Licenses may also be reassigned to another immediate family member or new company designee (for business entity Golf Licenses) for a Reassignment Fee of 10 percent, paid to the club.
